Biography
Rita Cunha is a native seed technician at Conservation Blueprint. Working out of St. Paul, Nebraska, she spends the spring, summer, and fall in the prairie hand-harvesting seeds from over 125 native wildflower species destined for plantings across the Midwest and the Great Plains. She is passionate about her work and enjoys sharing with others the natural wonders that make the (often overlooked) heartland a place worth experiencing and protecting. In 2025, she presented at the NWFAmerica’s Grasslands Conference. As a lover of all things prairie, Rita also volunteers with local organizations: she conducts bumble bee surveys, helps on prescribed burns, and gets involved with environmental education and outreach events in Nebraska.
