Matthew Strange

Drawing from his 15 year career experience in both New York City and Chicago, Matt is a passionate Landscape Architect who combines urban sensibility with site sensitivity to design vibrant, verdant, and creative outdoor spaces. As a Principal at Confluence’s Chicago office, Matt is experienced in a broad range of project types with a specialty in over-structure projects, amenity decks, and green roofs. Matt is a licensed Landscape Architect in Illinois, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina; a member of ASLA, AIA, and ULI; and sits on the Design Review Board for the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). A proud father of four and a self-proclaimed “plant-nerd,” Matt is also a former performance poet, graphic designer, and youth leader; his diverse interests helping to inform his approach to design.
