Julie Copley

Julie Copley is the Fire & Stewardship Coordinator for the Grand River Grasslands with The Nature Conservancy, based at Dunn Ranch Prairie. In this role, she leads collaborative efforts to restore and manage native prairie ecosystems. With a deep commitment to ecological restoration, Julie and her team work with landowners, agencies, and conservation partners to support the strategic use of fire—enhancing biodiversity, habitat quality, and landscape resilience. Her role bridges science, outreach, and boots-on-the-ground coordination, making prescribed fire a central tool in restoring and sustaining native grasslands in the Missouri–Iowa border region.
