Biography
Dr. Gerardo Camilo did his undergraduate studies in his native Puerto Rico at the University of Puerto Rico – Mayaguez. From there he moved to Texas to continue graduate work in social insects and biostatistics. He completed his doctoral work in 1992 at Texas Tech University. He joined the biology department at Saint Louis University in 1995 where his research focused on the biodiversity of insects, especially pollinators, in urban environments. Dr. Camilo is currently an independent researcher focusing on science communication and how to improve cities’ environments, one homeowner at a time.
