Not in My Front Yard: Green Street Rain Gardens, Aesthetics, and Social Values
September 14, 3:00pm • Rain gardens seem like a benign way to treat stormwater runoff. However, there can be public resistance when this type of green stormwater infrastructure is installed in the street right-of-way. This session is led by city and county program managers and designers who have developed green streets projects in residential neighborhoods, including in Kansas City. Learn from the positive and negative feedback they have received from the public on their projects, as well as strategies for community engagement and maintenance.
