Hope in Collaboration: Landscape Level Engagement for Monarchs and Pollinators

September 15, 1:30pm • Monarch butterflies, which many view as a symbol of hope and renewal, are also on the verge of being listed on the US Endangered Species Act. With a migratory range spanning three countries and thousands of miles, our challenge is to engage across diverse landscapes, seemingly unrelated sectors, and political boundaries. The Monarch Joint Venture (MJV) is a national non-profit organization and a partnership of over 120 federal and state agencies, non-governmental organizations, businesses, and academic programs working together to protect the monarch migration across the United States. MJV’s Associate Director Christine Sanderson will discuss the MJV’s work bringing “all hands on deck” for monarchs and pollinators and how voluntary conservation actions across North America foster hope for monarchs and other challenging conservation issues of our day.
