Future Natures: Designing Resilient Landscapes & Policy
Superbloom approaches design as a practice of resilience, moving past outdated models of high-water lawns and decorative plantings toward landscapes that conserve resources, support biodiversity, and inspire connection. From transforming civic landscapes to shaping new codes that phase out non-functional turf, Superbloom’s work shows how design and policy together can create more adaptive and enduring landscapes.
In this session, Stacy will share lessons from projects that span scales—from civic transformations to policy frameworks such as the Denver Resilient Landscapes zoning code updates and the Denver Public Schools Sustainable Landscape Manual. Pilot projects, including the Denver City & County Building Landscape Transformation, show how design can serve as both proof-of-concept and catalyst for systemic change.
